1030am I m laying in bed after not getting to bed until 345am I have been working on my custom ambush saddle I have created by utilizing a Petzl Canyoning Harness and a Muddy climbing harness the design concept is great. I like my tree saddle, but I wanted a design that was more compact and had the best of both worlds standard climbing harness and ambush saddle. This combo does it.
By using 7 Muddy Treesteps and my prototype MEGA AMBUSH STEP I can easily get to 30 feet in a 19lb package.
12pm I am settled in the tree of course there were deer in the field when I got there so I drove in anyway busting them up like a covey of quail ( not really they were just inside the timber)
At 2pm I see a squirrel (fox) getting a drink out of the creek. I am setup on the center of an S curve on Kettle Creek so that I am cverinf two separate crossings. I am 40 yards off one and 50 yards off the other.
At 245pm I see movement about 20 yards out and it is a ground hog. I decide to try my ambush saddle I had to actually make an adjustment and move around the tree from 6oclock position to about 11oclock position
I had to chane arrows to one of my small game stopper heads and was able to do this wonderfully.
Made the adjustment centered my pin and shot the whistle pig at 23 according to my rangefinder.
The arrow hit the pig with a loud thunp it made a groan and I believe its dead.
